P1 takes Top Step in Mini Swift Action

Just a quick thirty-minute drive from the front door step of P1 Engines headquarters is Adams Motorsports Park located in sunny Riverside, California. P1 is no stranger to success on every level of karting whether it’s the West Coast or East Coast and this past weekend was no different.

The fifth round of SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) California Pro Kart Challenge was no different than any other karting event. P1 had success in all classes from TaG Cadet to TaG Masters categories as they continue to build a resume on their successful 2015 karting season.

In TaG Cadet Rookie, Bryce Stevens claimed the top spot in qualifying while Aiden Kempf qualified P3. Stevens then went on to sweep both heat races with Kempf in tow. Tag Cadet rookie P1 Podium sweep Tag Cadet rookie P1 Podium sweep

Later, in the main event, Bryce Stevens ran second and finished second. But then after post race inspection, he was awarded the victory. Kempf then was awarded second. Alexander and George Diakoumopoulos ran in the top-five all day finishing third and fourth in the main.

In the TaG Cadet category, Oliver Calvo started the weekend out right with the pole position and a heat race win. Daniel Inzunza was the one to watch as he had a strong qualifying run, putting him in third as he then battled his way up to first in one of the heats and a solid second in the other. Completing the day Inzunza, stormed his way to the front of the field in the main event and secured the TaG Cadet victory. Tomas Mejia unfortunately struggled a bit but ended the weekend on a high note by finishing P5 in the main.
Dante Yu had a solid weekend and started it out by claiming the second spot in the TaG Junior qualifying session. Colby Dubato struggled though qualifying but advanced to a podium position in the main event. TaG Senior drivers Austin Elliot, Wesley Boswell and Aaron Aguirre all claimed podium positions by the end of the weekend. Elliot was consistently in the third position all weekend. Boswell qualified in the ninth position but made an excellent run to second in the second of two heat races and later crossed the line in fourth in the main event. Aguirre, after a poor qualifying run and DNF in heat one, would turn it around and finish fifth in the day’s final. Justice Lepe, Nick Ramirez and Matt England would cross the line in sixth, seventh and ninth overall.

In TaG Masters karting veteran, Scott Falcone, qualified fifth and battled all day to finish second in the main event.

“Success comes from hours of hard work and dedication to excellence. It doesn’t come overnight and I think the results across the nation, as well as here in California speak for themselves,” explained Jesus Vasquez. “Proud of all the drivers at the SKUSA Pro Kart Challenge at Adams Motorsports Park.”
