A LONG LIST OF DRIVERS LOOK TO BRING P1 ENGINES ANOTHER SUPERNATIONALS WIN
November 10, 2011 - In 2008, P1 Engines was a small suburban Los Angeles area engine building shop, virtually unknown in the karting scene. In 2009, they jumped to the top step of the podium in the biggest event of the season, the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. This year, a driver list of more than forty hungry competitors will be powered by P1 Engines as they head to the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino from November 16 - 20 for the fifteenth annual running of the event.
“It has been a very busy month,” explained P1 Engines Jesus Vasquez. “We have had more than 60 TaG motors go through the shop in preparation for this race. This is the one that everyone wants to win and we will be trackside to support all of our customers and help them get to the front of the field.”
Heading into Las Vegas, several P1 Engines powered drivers will be a threat for the victory. TaG Senior will see World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer’s Cup champion Mason Chelootz and the always fast Chris Wherheim, Pro Kart Challenge champion Austin Elliot, as well as front running pilots such as Mason Marotta, Daniel Formal and recent Pro Tour winner Matt Johnson all aboard P1 powered machines.
Focusing on the TaG market, all of P1 Engines drivers come from four divisions. TaG Cadet will see more than 80 drivers compete for the win including P1 powered Hunter Corbitt, Christian Brooks and Carter Herrera. Utilizing the P1 Engines prepared Vortex Mini Rok, four Italian Motors drivers will also look to challenge for the win.
TaG Junior will see a full field of competitors in Las Vegas including WKA front-runners Alex Keyes, the Johnston twins of Jake and Garrett as well as a several others. Not limiting himself to one brand, P1 Engines has supplied motors to drivers on Top Kart, Tony Kart, ItalKart, Intrepid and Birel.
Masters drivers Andy Seesmann, Paul Bonilla and Jason Bell are all entered in the TaG Masters division amongst a total of 44 drivers. Fast throughout 2011, all three drivers will have a shot at the top step of the podium.
Vasquez continued, “I wish that we could mention each and every person using our engines but the list is too long…definitely not a bad problem to have. I am hoping that we can take home some hardware from next weekend and again call ourselves SuperNats Champions.”
